Warehouse Racking Load & Safety Checklist for UAE Buyers
A rack is safe only when the complete configuration, installation and daily use match its documented limits. Buyers should collect the right data before ordering and keep load, impact and modification controls visible after handover.
Define every load
Record the maximum unit load, load per shelf or beam level, pallet weight and total bay arrangement. Do not use a marketing capacity from a different rack size or configuration.
Confirm the site and floor
Check slab condition, level, clear height, columns, fire services and traffic routes. Anchors and base plates must suit the approved system and site conditions.
Specify protection and signage
Identify forklift-exposed uprights and row ends, and include suitable guards where required. Ask for clearly stated rated-load information for the supplied configuration.
Control installation and changes
Confirm who is responsible for layout approval, unloading, erection, anchoring, final checks and handover. Moving beams or mixing components can change system performance.
Plan routine inspection
Operators should report impact, missing locks, bent components, loose anchors and overloaded levels. Isolate serious damage and arrange competent assessment rather than continuing normal use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can one load figure apply to every rack size?
No. Capacity depends on the complete beam, upright, bay, level and installation configuration.
Does mesh decking increase rack capacity?
Not automatically. Decking and supports must be rated for their use, while the underlying rack retains its own approved limits.
Can a bent upright remain in service?
Visible damage should be reported and assessed. Serious or uncertain damage should be isolated until a competent decision is made.
Should installation appear as a separate quotation item?
Yes. The quotation should clearly state whether delivery, unloading, erection, anchoring, inspection and handover are included or excluded.
